Racky photoshoot locations

My hubby and myself went to racky a few photoshooting location for our wedding. They are labrador park, HortPark and a swing at Hyderbad Road.

It was a hot and sunny day today, even though it drizzled a little while as we left the HortPark.

I dun really like Labrador Park because there are a lot of ants! As I will be wearing a bridal gown for our photoshoot, there will definitely them climbing up my gown! No way!

I like the HortPark the best; it has many beautiful garden landscaping. My hubby likes it too. We feel that we will spend a lot of time there if we are to do a photoshoot there. Below are a few pic taken at the HortPark. There is a pedestrian bridge called Alexander Arch nearby and we could take some photos there too.

Nearby the HortPark, there used to be a swing at Hyberabad Road. It only left a sting now with a old tire now.

Selection of groom's attire

Sorry, no pics of groom's suit for now. My hubby make to measured his trousers at YC yesterday. As YC will be providing us 2 coats (white and black), he made a pair of white trousers. He will be wearing his own black pants.

We will be getting a simple white coat with collar and a half mandarin collar for the black coat.

I will take a few pics of my hubby when he does his fitting in a few weeks time.

Our wedding car reserved

My hubby suggested a spacious car such as Toyota Estima for our wedding car initally. I don't mind having this car being our wedding car.

Then he came across this Audi A6 through his friend and found it very suitable to be a wedding car. He consult his other buddies which car he should use and all replied him "Audi!" . They reminded him that a wedding is once a life time occasion and should use a more luxury car for this occasion.

He noted their point and I found it ok, hence, he went ahead to book this Audi A6 as our wedding car.

Our Honeymoon flight booked!

By Edna:

I'm very happy today because I'm have booked our honeymoon flight with permission from my hubby! Although our honeymoon will be early next year, it is better to book the air tickets early especially I can get the tickets at a special price and also other charges like the fuel might increase if I book later.

This is also the first time that I can book my seats in advance, so I had booked window seats for our return trips. So fun and I'm looking forward to our trip!

5 year Pator anniversay @ Bintan

22 Mar 2003 was the day that we left behind our singlehood. Its has been 5 years! We had spent 5 year anniversary at Bintan's Nirwana resorts. Althought it was a short holiday, I feel very relaxed and I enjoyed my time being with him. Taking a stroll along the beach, swam in the pool and sea. I still felt very lazy at the end of the holiday.

Thanks dear, for being there for me and accompany me as much as you can, especially we live quite far apart from each other.

Wedding gown selection

We went to select our wedding (WG), evening (EG) and photoshoot gown last Sunday. I was very happy that my hubby could make it last minute. He was suppose work overtime. My friend, Xiao Yun came along too. She helped to give me some feedback to my gowns which I had tried. Thanks a lot!

We managed to complete our selection of gowns very quickly (in about 2hrs!). My gown changing process was also very fast with 2 Yvonne Creative staff helping me. My hair become very messy (which was my trademark) in the end of the tryout. I an very lucky to select the the wedding gown I want.

Sad and disappointed....

By Edna

Our gown selction day is this coming Sunday. I have been looking forward to it, but William told me last night he had to do overtime work on that day. They have a tight deadline to meet and there are not enough workers. Therefore he had no choice and have to help out.

Although I had asked my friend Xiao Yun to accompany me to select my gown for an extra opinion, I was so sad and disappointed last night because he couldn't go.

I know it is not his fault and some things are not within his control. Under this circumstance, I will have go with Xiao Yun, and most probably I will be the one who will be the busy one trying gowns. Therefore, I think its fine he did not go this time round.

Attending a wedding dinner @ Furama Riverfront

It was one of my colleague's wedding last Thursday. He had the same wedding banquet venue as me.

I was invited to attend, sharing the joy as well as considering this wedding dinner as my 1st time trying out the food.

The dishes were generally fine for me except for the sharksfin soup which I tasted a bitter taste and the rest of my colleagues on the same table smelled fishy smell.

The auntie server who had served us was not a friendly and polite woman.

Overall, the wedding is still not too bad.

1 year ROM anniversary

By Edna:

I wanted to post this on the Monday, but pc was not available to me.

26 November 2006: The day my hubby and myself tied a knot officially at Maysprings condominum clubshouse. The old and wise Mr Chan Kai Yau was our solemniser for the day. Until today, I'm very grateful to our friends and family who had helped in the preparation as well as attended our solemnisation.

Most importantly, I want to thank my hubby for many many many (infinity) things which he had done for me, like comforting me, keeping me happy and spending time with me. We do have disagreements at times too, I hope that this will make us understand each other even more.

On this 1 year anniversary, we stayed over at our new home and do some simple cooking. I cherish the time, being together and doing activities together.

Decision on AD photographer and videographer

By Edna:

We met up with Celestine from Fotowerke to take a look at their photos and videos. Both of us feel their works are ok and I feel that Celestine is professional and sincere.

They are currently having a promotion, giving us a good rate for their basic package. I want to have the express highlights too and we will have to top up to it.

As the express highlights will require the videographer to leave the last location at around 1.30pm, my worry for me is it might be too rush for him. This is because the travelling between his mother's, my parents' and our home are quite far apart and will take up quite a lot of travelling time. I had discussed with Celestine and he could compromise to leave a little later.

Not really wanting to scout for other photographer and videographers, we had decided to engage their photography and videography services for our wedding day.

Photographer and videographer hunting

I think its time to source for photographers and videographers. Had ask for some quotations for a few. Most of them quoted above more than $1k. I feel that its quite ex.

Came across one of them in SG brides having promotion at a very attractive rate. I had just arranged an appointment with Fotowerke to see their works.

Looking forward to meet them.

Wedding banquet venue hunting

By Edna:

Although, Master Tong had shortlisted a few dates for us, only 2 dates (22 Nov 08 & 28 Dec 08) were more suitable to us. Many of us would prefer the former because it is on a Saturday and all of us can get a rest next day.

I tried our luck on the 1st date. I had dream venue in mind which was Noble House but they were already booked on both days. My husband and myself decided to get the wedding venues around Havelock, Outram, Singapore River area. We shortlisted and arranged to view 3 venues which were Orient Ocean restaurant, River View hotel and Furama Riverfront hotel.

Personal reviews:

Orient Ocean Restaurant ~ It has a typical Chinese restaurant setup and is able to accommodate more than 50 tables with 6 pillars. The cost of each table booked, is quite affordable. A lot of parking space available.
We did not choose it because we did not like the Chinese restaurant setup.

Riverview hotel ~ First thing, I must comment that the coordinator, Ms Lee Kim Peng whom we met is very friendly, sincere, accommodating and helpful. I like the suite bathroom in particular. As for the ballroom, it is small, old and can accommodate up to 35 tables. There are 2 pillars in the ballroom. The price of a table for a hotel is considered to be very affordable. There are very few parking space available
We did not choose it because of the ballroom capacity. We had planned for approximately 30 tables and worried that the number of tables would increase as time goes by. Maximum capacity would be very cramp.

Furama Riverfront hotel ~ It has 3 ballrooms: Jupiter, Mercury and Venus. The venus ballroom is very spacious and is able to accommodated more that 50 tables. The ceiling is considered to be quite high and this ballroom is pillarless! It has a big foyer outside the ballroom for cocktail reception. It’s pricing and package is very competitive and attractive. There is ample parking space during weekends. Therefore, we decided to sign up with our coordinator, Albert Liew to book the Venus ballroom.

I felt a little uneasy when we paid the deposit because the price was much higher than the other 2 venues and started to worried about our budget. In the end, I thought of it more positively, this is the best venue and we like it here best. I’m looking forward to it and going to make my dream wedding come true here on 22 Nov 2008!

Wedding date selection

By Edna:

As we had planned to get married next year, we wanted to get a good day too. We had shortlisted the last quarter of the year 2008 for our big day.

I visited to Singapore Brides forum to find out more about the fortune teller or fengshui masters which they consulted. I shortlisted a few and contacted them to find out more from them.

In the end, we consulted Master David Tong from Chinese Metaphysics Consulting to select our wedding date. He is very friendly and helpful. He also explained his analysis to us in detail and gave us tips on what to do for our wedding. His replies to us very quickly, met our budget and we can meet him at our convenience. After selecting a few dates, we were in a better direction on what to do next.

Special banquet ideas

Eversince our wedding preparations started, I have been thinking how can I be less common from others in a wedding banquet which is usually seems to have a 'standard operating procedure' (SOP).

Last week, I attended my friend Lijun's banquet and I found that hers is very different and enjoyable. Her husband is a band member himself and they performed during the dinner. I think this is a nice idea. My brother is a band member of Freedom band group and I have this idea of asking his band to perform for me. However, my bro rejected me, gave me the reason that they were not good enough. Well, they have more than a year to prepare. I will try to persuade him again.

My banquet venue has a piano, my hubby and myself tried asking his sister to play but she rejected us too.

Sometimes, I would imagine and brainstorm what are the possible ways to make our banquet unique. Dance in, march in differently (couple separate march in, march in with father), sing a song?

I think I would have to think very hard and hopefully my hubby can come out of something too!
